Infants

Our nursery has been specially designed to create a warm and secure environment for infants. From the peaceful sleeping area to the rocking chair where babies are held and fed their bottles, babies at Ms. Jean's Child Care have a very special place.

Each family develops their child's daily schedule. They set nap times, play times and bottle times to ensure consistency between home and Ms. Jean's.

Our teachers also welcome visits from families at any time. Our Infant Room includes a play area full of stimulating toys and books where babies are encouraged to develop at their own pace. Our teachers sing songs and read stories to encourage language acquisition, and they pass balls and play games to develop motor skills. Our teachers spend lots of time cuddling and talking to babies to instill trust and to provide a healthy learning environment.

American Sign Language is introduced in the Infant and First Steps rooms. Infants learn to express their thoughts or needs without regard to their language ability. Infants love to move and explore and Ms. Jean's teachers appreciate this curiosity. Swings and play seats, therefore, are limited in our Infant Rooms. The First Steps classroom transitions children from infant to toddler - children attempt new vocabulary and practice self-help skills.
